The twenty symbols, or glyphs, are energies and archetypes called Solar seals. The thirteen numbers, expressed with dots and bars, are known as the Galactic (lunar) tones. Both the seals and the numbers correlate with the human body (20 fingers and toes and 13 joints), and the whole 260-day cycle also relates to human gestation (pregnancy) and to agricultural cycles.
Every day carries a unique combination of energies that affects us in particular ways. Aligning with the cycle every day is a wonderful way to reconnect with your essence, feel part of the web of life and live in harmony with all of existence.

Kin – one day of the sacred calendar
Each day of the Tzolkin’s 260-day cycle is known as a kin – the union of one symbol and one number. All 260 kins together create the matrix known as the Harmonic Module or the Galactic Spin.

There are 20 solar seals, suns or glyphs. Each has its own quality and all have the same value. The seals follow a constant order, which allows us to see them as an evolutionary process. No seal is more important than another and none can be singled out. The day we were born is our Galactic birthday, and that kin gives us the quality of soul with which we follow our path on Earth.
The twenty solar seals tell the story of creation. Each seal is connected to the seal before and the seal after it in the cycle of evolution. When we recognize each of the 20 seals as an interconnected universal truth, we can understand what we are made of, see the synchronic order between us and nature and understand the science of synchronicity. The solar seals remind us that we are here as evolved human beings on an evolved planet, connected with all of creation.
From the perspective of psychology, the seals can be understood as archetypes or patterns of behavior. As in Western astrology, they can be seen as analogous to astrological signs. For the Maya, these symbols were vibrational energies that point to a person’s inclinations and the ways they fulfill their mission in life.

These archetypes can be experienced in two different ways. When we live mostly at the level of the soul and make decisions from the heart, we feel them as pure energy and Light. When we live at the level of the ego and choose from fear, we experience their shadow aspects. That is why two people with the same kin can have completely different attitudes toward life.

The 13-day cycle of the Tzolkin is represented by the galactic tones. Our tone reflects the characteristics of our personality and is determined by the day we were born. The galactic tone paints the universal energy that surrounds our aura and lights the path we are meant to follow in life. The more consciously we step into this energy – embodying and invoking our galactic energies – the more we can channel our gifts into our life and relationships.
While connecting with our personal solar seal allows us to enter a higher vibration, it is also vital to understand that by connecting with our unique galactic energy we activate our whole authentic being. All of us can experience the power and mystery of these ancient archetypal forces through the unique energy of Galactic time.
The tones are represented by dots and bars. This way of writing numbers comes from the ancient Maya and is quite simple: each dot represents the number 1, and five dots are replaced by one bar. The thirteen tones are 13 sacred numbers – spiritual energies beyond the limits of physical reality – that give us the power to create. The galactic tones are the tones of creation.
Each tone has its place in the process of life’s manifestation, but it is also connected to the other tones; in the end, each is just one step in the Wavespell. The tone shows the energy we can use on any given day. Each tone is named after the kind of energy it represents, and the galactic tones carry the same names as the months (moons) of the 13 Moon Calendar.

The Castles
One 260-day Tzolkin cycle is divided into five castles of 52 days each. The castles always follow the same sequence of colors: red, white, blue, yellow and green. Each castle contains four 13-day Wavespells.
Every 52 years the same energetic pattern repeats, serving as a guide through the energies you have each year. This is a valuable tool that helps you see which transits accompanied you during certain experiences in your life and learn more about recurring patterns.
When you recognize the patterns that repeat in your story, it becomes clear what drives certain actions, reactions, thoughts and feelings, and why you keep attracting certain situations and people into your life. Recognizing the energetic shifts in particular years brings a whole new understanding of past events and helps you clear the past and choose what is best for you in the present and the future – based on who you are today and what you want right now.

Galactic Activation Portals
There are 52 green cells in the Tzolkin matrix, known as Galactic Activation Portals (GAP). Together they form a shape similar to the double helix of DNA and help us activate the full potential of our DNA, connecting the macrocosm and the microcosm.
A portal is a gateway to the frequencies of other dimensions – days when energies feel more intense and awareness is heightened. If you live connected with your soul, these days offer an opportunity to consciously accelerate your awakening. If you are held by the illusions of the ego, they can feel turbulent and chaotic.

The Mystic Column
The Tzolkin’s Harmonic Module has 13 columns of 20 days each. The seventh column, right in the middle, is called the Mystic Column (kins 121–140). With six columns on each side, it is the axis of the Tzolkin and symbolically represents our spine, which keeps us balanced and centered.
These 20 days can be understood as a period of adjustment, called the Days from the Core. It is a time to be present in the moment with all your senses, to go within, rest and listen to your inner voice, before the cycle moves into its second half.
